The eye is immediately captivated by the deep evolving ruby-red nuances

On the nose a vinous approach, typical of Nerello mascalese, and intense, with elegant notes of sour cherries and marasca cherries, hints of spices and licorice intrigue its rich bouquet

The palate immediately catches the lively initial freshness accompanied by a very light savoriness.

Right after, the mid-palate expands juicy and enveloping thanks to a dense weave of soft, velvety tannins supported by fresh acidity.

The finish expresses a flavor both firm and persistent Slow, long fermentation on the skins at controlled temperature.

After malolactic fermentation a short aging in steel and concrete begins, then continues for a period in wood and bottle

Etna’s 1983 eruption lasted 131 days and destroyed the Etna cable car, various restaurants and businesses along the stretch between Nicolosi and Rifugio Sapienza.

Also known for the world’s first attempt to divert the lava flow by means of explosives, it produced about 100 million cubic meters of lava material.
